The Role

The Role
  • Identify areas or risk to Lidl HK in respect of Environmental related hazards in Lidls supply chain
  • Liaise with Lidl HQ and relevant departments at Lidl HK; drive the management of Lidl HKs Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) project
  • Oversee the collection of water sludge reports, chemical inventory data, and other relevant information from Chemical and Dyestuff suppliers
  • Oversee the facilitation the factories’ wastewater and sludge test with third party laboratories and oversee desktop reviews
  • Take the lead, identify training needs, develop training material, and deliver training for suppliers on chemical managements, energy saving, waste water treatment and other topics related to reducing environmental risk in Lidls global supply chain
  • Oversee the building and maintenance of Chemical Inventory Library
  • Develop environmental KPIs to keep track on improvements in Lidls supply chain
  • Keep abreast on new laws and regulations, activities and initiatives in regards of ZDCH and communicate critical issues immediately to the C&S Director,  Sustainability Manager and liaise with the C&S Analyst for contributions to the C&S Monthly report
  • Establish contacts, build relationships and actively engage with consultants and NGO, Government bodies such as SAC/HIGG, GAFTI, to further the Lidl C&S program
 

Your Profile

Your Profile
  • Degree holder in Environmental / chemical engineering
  • Min 10  years experience in chemical industry, compliance and sustainability
  • Extensive experience in handling factory issues such as:  Fire safety and HSE etc
  • Experience in Environmental Sustainability project as Zero Discharge/ RSL/ HIGG  is a plus
  • Broad vision, Self-motivated and able to communicate at all levels
  • Strong  program management skills
  • High degree of work  ethics and integrity
  • Possess strong  leadership  and influencing skills
  • Good at problem solving, strategic thinking and planning
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Good PC knowledge (MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
  • Travel required
