The Role

The Role
  • Take the lead and build/develop and maintain a Chemical Inventory Library
  • Obtain and review information from chemical and dyestuff suppliers.
  • Support the  management of  Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) project for Lidl HK
  • Collect and report water sludge reports, chemical inventory data, and other relevant information from Chemical and Dyestuff suppliers.
  • Facilitate the factories’ waste water and sludge test with third party laboratories
  • Conduct desktop review of factories' waste water and sludge test reports, Chemical Inventory list and any other technical documents/reports related to ZDCH and/or chemical management
  • Liaise with sourcing and other relevant departments within Lidl HK for continuous communication to further the ZDCH work and requirement from Greenpeace.
  • Respond to and manage various enquires related to testing methods/cost, test reports, timelines etc from relevant department within Lidl HK, supplier factories and agents.
  • Support collaboration with colleagues in Germany on sharing ZDHC Project status and research regarding the ZDHC project.
  • Keep abreast on new laws and regulations, activities and initiatives in regards of ZDCH and communicate critical issues immediately to the Sustainability Manager and liaise with the C&S Analyst for contributions to the C&S Monthly report

Your Profile

Your Profile
  • Diploma with chemical /textile background
  • Familiar with the concept of
  • ZDCH and management of hazardous chemicals
  • Self-motivated, positive and able to communicate at all levels
  • High degree of work ethics and integrity
  • Independent, responsible and pro-active work style as well as the ability to work in a team
  • Good command in English/Mandarin is a must and other languages is a plus
  • Good PC knowledge (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Travel required.
